A San Francisco police officer and suspect were shot and hospitalized with life-threatening injuries Sunday night after a vehicle chase through city streets ended in gunfire in the Bayview.
The officer, who was shot multiple times and was in surgery Monday morning, is expected to survive, the San Francisco Police Officers Association said in a statement.

Around 10:30 p.m., SFPD officers responded to reports that a stolen vehicle was entering San Francisco from the Bay Bridge.
