More than 100 members of the CSU Employees Union rallied at San Francisco State University on Tuesday, during an active bargaining session — demanding higher wages and job security on the heels of a newly delivered state budget.

The workers face a rare convergence: a sweeping set of labor negotiations playing out across the nation’s largest public university system, including a long-standing staff contract about to expire and a first-ever contract for student workers still unwritten.
