Former Orange County Rep. Katie Porter laid out plans to lower housing costs and regulate Silicon Valley in a KQED town hall on Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have to make change in California and we have to do it in a smart way, we can\u2019t do it in a reckless way, we can\u2019t do it in a way that\u2019s just about catering to donors,\u201d Porter said. \u201cBut we really have to make change because it\u2019s coming, it\u2019s not a choice \u2014 AI is coming and the changes are going to be tremendous.\u201d<\/p>\n
