Every registered voter in California should by now have received their ballot for the state\u2019s June 2 primary election.<\/p>\n

But why are voters in the East Bay cities of Fremont, Hayward, Livermore and Pleasanton about to receive another <\/em>ballot in their mailbox?<\/p>\n

It\u2019s because the sudden resignation of former Rep. Eric Swalwell following sexual assault allegations created a vacancy in California\u2019s 14th Congressional District, where these voters live. A special primary election to fill that seat will be held on June 16, just two weeks after California\u2019s regularly scheduled primary.<\/p>\n
